Oh, I know how that can happen! When I was still in the Navy, I once was in charge of a ship's administrative department. Admin put out a daily "plan of the day" with the day's schedule and various announcements. Usually, I proofed it before it was printed up, but one day they skipped me and had it signed and printed before I could. One of the announcements concerned a wedding band I'd found, and it was SUPPOSED to say if you'd lost a wedding band, "please see LTjg [my name]." They forgot one little word, and for the rest of the day I heard about the line that read:

"If you lost a wedding band, please LTjg [my name]."

I used Color #95 (I'm mgb on Ravelry, if you'd like to see a picture). It's stashed at least half a dozen times on Ravelry and, as always, you would be amazed to see the color variations for just #95. I can't wait to see what I get next. The metal needles are making the knitting much more enjoyable--there was too much drag on bamboo. I feel that the yarn is strong enough, and I do let the knitting dangle occasionally to unkink the working yarn.

Don't let me set a bad example for you, but I abandoned three SSS's to cast this on. Gotta go where the spirit moves me... ;-)

Marie

Marie,
Hi. Thanks for your comment. I'm obviously a looser knitter than you. I would like to achieve closer to 9 stitches per inch, but until I can try with size 00 needles (which are proving difficult to get my hands on - I know they're out there, but I've not had time to track any down yet - many brands jump straight from 0 to 000) I won't know if that's possible for me. I've got a couple of pairs of socks to finish up for gifts before I attempt a pair from the Noro for myself, so thanks for letting me know the length of your color changes. Which color did you use? I think the stripes may vary some in size depending on the color.

Kristi, thanks for a good review. My experience is the same--I switched to metal #1s (2.25mm) and that is yielding me 9 stitches to the inch. I'm not worried about the stiffness from my experience with regular Noro, but the socks will probably be loose clog socks as opposed to in-shoe socks. I am finding (on 72 stitches) that the color changes are about 1.5 inches in length, and they blend into the next color in trademark Noro dreamy style. I'm wondering how the ribbing will hold up--as you mention, not a lot of "boing" with this yarn.
